Volunteers Week 2021

June 07, 2021  •  1 Comment

As a business, I have three charities that I support - The Scouts, Girlguiding and the Essex Wildlife Trust as a Corporate Member. I volunteer my time for both organisations by running a Brownie pack and being the Social Media Manager for Essex Scouts. I can also be regularly found as part of the media team creating amazing event coverage and all from a tent in the middle of a field.

Throughout the pandemic we have not been able to meet face to face, and have instead held meetings by Zoom for Brownies. This has been an amazing feat for the last 14 months, and I'm so looking forward to getting back to outdoor meetings for the remainder of the summer term. It has been so important, to not only the Brownies, but also the leaders, to have had one regular thing that happened each week. We have seen so many Brownies achieving interest badges, theme awards and section bronze, silver and gold awards. Opportunities that these young ladies would have missed otherwise.

I have also been very busy with Essex Scouts making sure that everyone is kept up to date with the latest information, especially at the start of the pandemic.

Obviously no large scale events have taken place, and Jamborees have been cancelled for some years ahead. I thought I would share a few photos from our last Scout Content ASU event at Gilwell Park, Wintercamp 2020.

Volunteering can be so rewarding and I can't recommend it enough. It has hugely benefitted myself and my business. I've also made some amazing friends all over the world as well.
