If you are managing the social media content for your food business, then it is vital to have a content planner.

Preparing a schedule for the month ahead makes sure you capitalise on those national days, and creates plenty of content for your different social media platforms.

I've pulled together lots of events that are happening across October to help you plan, and to build your content into your brand guidelines.

I just love everything about October. The colours of the trees, kicking through the fallen leaves, autumn walks with a bowlful of warming soup at the end, fungi, and of course Halloween.

There are a few celebration weeks happening this month which would be great for themed meals in cafes, pubs and restaurants. The 5th October sees the start of National Curry Week, and Seafood Week on the 9th. The 14th is National Baking Week, and with the return of the Great British Bake Off, it's the ideal time to hone into your client's sweet tooth. And to add to that, the 19th-25th is UK Coffee Week; an ideal companion to Baking Week.

National days feature World Vegetarian Day, World Egg Day, Apple Day and Nut Day to name just a few of them.

And, of course, October is the bewitching month with Pumpkin Day and Halloween.
