Why should I use a professional photographer for my business?

I quite often get asked why a business should use a professional photographer.

Virtually everyone today has a camera on their phone and instantly at hand. We are taking selfies, making videos and countless images of our dinner all the time. It is a very sad fact that this is the most photographed generation ever, but they will have the least to show for it. How often have I seen requests on social media for desperate help as someone has just accidentally deleted all their photos from their phone? How often have you had a family gathering and got the old photo albums out to look back on to reminisce? Not quite the same as being huddled looking at a USB stick that no-one has anything to plug it into!

So why, as a business, in this easily accessible photographic world, should you still invest in professional photography? When you hire a photographer, you are not just getting someone who can press the shutter button. You are getting a highly trained individual that will consider your business brand and create a visual identity for you. They will have the creative eye with composition, colour and how to sculpture light to show you and your business at its best.  Your website is quite often your main shop front, so what do you think your visitors will think if they just see photos taken from your phone?

They will also make sure that you have the legal side covered with model releases, GDPR compliance, and image use agreements.

A highly skilled professional will be able to make the dullest conference, workshop or AGM look engaging and exciting with their visual story telling techniques.

I think this quote sums it up quite well - "A brand is not just a logo, it's the overall impression and experience you give to your audience and customers. Your brand expresses the value you provide. It's you!" - Amy Locurto

And when the photos are finished you will have a beautiful set of consistent images that you can use across all your leaflets, publications, website and social media channels. That investment in a professional photographer is not looking quite as expensive now is it?

That’s all well and good I hear you say, but I can just grab a stock image for peanuts! You can and many people do, but can you imagine the embarrassment when you turn up to an exhibition and one of your competitors has the same image on their banner? You are also not showing your clients what makes you and your business unique, and tell the story behind the brand.

It’s an increasingly visual age living at speed, and you need to be able to tell your business message in an instant with imagery rather than words.

If you would like stunning imagery and a visual brand for your business, do get in touch. Business Photography
